Stillwater Arts Council launches ‘Wrap it with Art’ fundraising initiative
In its continued efforts to support community arts initiatives, the Stillwater Arts Council will launch “Wrap it with Art,” a collection of five all-seasons gift wrap designs by local artists available for purchase at locations around Stillwater. Proceeds from the sales will be reinvested into Stillwater Arts.
“This project offers Stillwater shoppers an incredible opportunity to give back and support local arts,” council board member Meghan Brasuell said. “The art and paper quality is so beautiful that these paper rolls could be gifts themselves.”
Earlier this year, artists were invited to submit designs for consideration, which resulted in the selection of five works by Amber Cheever, Courtney Kelly, Pat McDonald, Alyssa Scattergood-White and Jude Tolar. Their art — with themes ranging from playful animals to classic florals — was adapted to fit 24 x 36-inch paper rolls, with one full sheet dedicated to each artist.
The wrapping paper, priced at $25 per roll, will be available at various Stillwater locations, including Prairie Arts Center, the Stillwater History Museum at the Sheerar, Visit Stillwater, and select local businesses.
“We are truly grateful to our sponsors for making this project possible,” said Cristy Morrison, a Stillwater Arts Council board member. “Support from CareerTech and our seven sponsors was instrumental in bringing this project to life.”
Initial printing for “Wrap it with Art” was funded by donations from Visit Stillwater, Stillwater Medical, BancFirst, Simmons Bank, Great Plains Bank, RCB Bank, and Oklahoma Community Credit Union.
